Big Changes for a little church
I think I can say the last year has been the biggest year of change in the history of the Well. We lost a staff member (Eddie), added a staff member (Dave), finally put our second staff member on full time (Jimmy), lost our contract with the theater (our home) and moved into our first permanent home (is it ironic or an oxymoron to say “first” “permanent”), we grew more than 100 new people in weekly service, added Deacons and a ton of additional leaders and had to nearly overhaul our leadership structure. WEW! But through all of that, I can honestly say I am more confident than ever that we are right where God wants us and perfectly poised for what He is going to do next.
There are two reasons for my confidence for this year: The first is, of course, just seeing what God is currently doing in the lives of so many Wellers, including myself and my family. Remember that He promised in Philippians, that He would complete that works that he started. The second is the amazing people who have stepped into so many leadership positions. Every week I am meeting with leaders throughout the Well for times of training, mentoring, discipling, vision casting and all of them are hungry not only for God to move in our community, but for God to move in their lives. They are reading, praying and strategizing everyday to make the Well the healthiest, safest and most exciting place to explore, experience and celebrate our faith.
Be on the look out for all kinds of new faces in new places doing new things in the coming weeks, and let us know if there are ways that you would like to get involved in the ministry at the Well or if there are things that you see that still need to be addressed.
Hope your having a great week,
Jerry
