For years now those of you who attend The Well, our local church in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, have heard my wife, Carrie, tell everyone that she really runs the church and in fact rights all of my sermons.  Is this true………..NO!  BUT she actually is largely responsible for the growth, health and success of the faith community it has been our supreme privilege to lead for the last 7 years.  How you ask,…I’m glad you ask.

First of all Carrie has at one time or another been just about everything at The Well from nursery worker, to secretary, to worship leader, to teaching pastor, and back to nursery worker.  Carrie has been a huge part of the creative passion that has always caused us to push ourselves at the Well to try new things and never settle for yesterdays successes.  But most of all Carrie has always given me the strength, freedom and confidence to go all out and never feel like I had to check and make sure she was still there.  When we have gone through our deepest and darkest times, It was Carries strength and confidence in me and the Lord that kept me fighting until Christ presented the answer.  And it has been Carrie who let me know when I was drawing into myself and has always pushed me to be the man she knew I was, I hoped I could become and the man God created me to be.

Thank you Carrie, for everything.  I mean that honey.  I love you!

Heaven Father,

How gracious you were when you said, it wasn’t good for man to be alone,

How merciful you were when took the best parts of humanity and imparted them in women.

How mysterious you were when you cast her shape,

And what a sense of humor when you said we were supposed to live, love, and think as one.

Thanks for the mess, it makes life fun!
